Chasselas is a rare grape, grown almost exclusively in Switzerland, in eastern France, and on the Upper Rhine. In southern Baden it has been at home for centuries; our parcel sits in the Mauchener Ruchmatt, in the southern Markgräflerland. We farm it biodynamically, ferment on native yeasts, and keep the alcohol moderate. A wine for the table — every day.
Tasting notes
A clear expression of the Upper Rhine.
On the nose, subtle yeast notes, lemon and a gentle nuttiness, joined by quince, honeydew melon and pear.
On the palate, pear at just the right point of ripeness — neither too soft nor too firm. Honeydew melon, with a touch of lychee.
